After feuding with his now former Blink-182 bandmates, Tom Delonge was quick to announce his first solo release To The Stars… Demos, Odds and Ends. After fans figured that this surely meant unreleased tracks originally meant to be played alongside Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker, excitement built rapidly. ‘New World’ is somewhat in line with the work he created with his former bandmates, but is noticeably more serious than a lot of their work – even his vocals are more stripped-back and sincere than his typical nasal self. A delicate guitar tune and catchy chorus make the song decent, but it’s no Blink-182.
